Slovak Ambassador to Russia Ľubomír REHÁK paid a visit to Gorky Automobile Plant. He was really impressed by the high environmental standards in production processes, cutting edge technology and high level of automation at GAZ and emphasized that Nizhny Novgorod and Slovakia have a great potential to expand their bilateral relations in trade, R&D and technology to mutual benefit.
The Slovak Ambassador visited GAZ production facilities in Nizhny Novgorod and learnt about the company’s successes in international projects.
Ľubomír REHÁK was interested to look at the LCV assembly process, the working stations, and the machinery and equipment used by the operators.
He also looked at the quality auditing process as there are state-of-the-art quality management practices introduced at Gorky Automobile Plant to supervise production processes at each stage. While on the premises Mr. REHÁK paid attention to recycling bins to collect and take away 9 types of solid waste.
He liked GAZ Group’s sound approach to its foreign projects and operations: when launching sales in a new market the company sets up a spare parts warehouse and service stations, trains its dealers, provides diagnostic equipment, etc.
Slovak Ambassador to Russia Ľubomír REHÁK:
- I’m really impressed by GAZ Group and its grand scale. The company is open for international cooperation. GAZ takes care of environment, and that’s important, too, and it deserves great respect.

Elena Shurtygina, Eurasia Sales Development Director, GAZ International:
- Eco-friendly vehicles are very popular at the moment, and we are already offering our green solutions to our foreign customers, e.g. Euro-6 vehicles, while GAZ Group’s export division is actively developing electric vehicle projects.
